5 Practical Tips on Losing Weight This Summer




So you were told in order to lose weight you need to eat less and workout more? Well, its time we rethink our weight loss journey since, without a proper action plan, this remains a useless proposition.

Over time what I have found to be practical is the 5:2 approach to fasting. You will have to cut down your usual calorie intake by a quarter for two days in a week. The remaining five days, just eat normally.

The following are my 5 practical tips which will help you lose weight in the summer. Try a few of the tips if not all of them and you will be surprised to find that you have gone a size down. 

Most important is that you will have avoided a number of diseases caused by poor feeding habits. In the process, you will also modify your appetite and your attitude towards food.

1. Cut out alcohol intake -- For the next six weeks reduce your alcohol intake or cut it out completely. Alcohol contains chemicals similar to sugar and has few benefits in the body anyway.

2.Choose your carbs carefully -- Avoid high processed white carbs present in most snacks and meals. Swap refined carbs with non-refined carbs like wholemeal bread and you are sure to notice small changes in your body with huge impacts on your health.

3. Practice portion control -- Reduce the proportion of food you eat in a single sitting. Always take a smaller serving.

4.Implement the three quarters rule -- Fill your plate with more vegetables compared to proteins and carbohydrates.

5. Avoid juice and drink more soup -- Soup is a great appetite suppressant and taking it before meals may cause you to eat less. This in return will reduce your calories intake.
